April 2025: Green tech company Thermly is excited to announce it is expanding, paving the way for Sevenoaks homeowners to further reduce their bills and cut their carbon emissions as the UK is set for an energy price hike this month.
Last year, Thermly announced its launch in Sevenoaks, offering homeowners the chance to future proof their home by switching to an environmentally friendly heat pump. Now, following a successful launch, Thermly has announced it is expanding to include other green technology options for homeowners, including solar panels and battery storage.
The initiative will enable a Sevenoaks-wide roll-out of green tech installations in homes across the area, supporting Sevenoaks District Council’s ambitious Climate Strategy to reduce carbon emissions and provide a better environment for future generations.
Thermly provides independent information about the green tech options available to homeowners and access to a choice of local, certified installers. The company supports homeowners to make important decisions about green tech including heat pumps and solar panels, making the process simple and straightforward.
Jennifer Armstrong used Thermly’s platform to have a heat pump installed in her four-bedroom detached Victorian house built in the 1870s. Passionate about the environment, Jennifer and her husband wanted to install green technology to reduce their fossil fuel consumption, saying: “We really believe it was the right thing to do.”
She encouraged others to consider installing green technology in their homes to help the environment, adding: “It will make us feel much better knowing we have taken this step to decarbonise our home.”
Thermly’s free online platform helps homeowners install green technology such as heat pumps and solar panels quickly and easily, connecting them with local Sevenoaks-based installers to make their journey as easy and efficient as possible.
Gareth Robertson, one of the founders of Thermly, said: “We are on a mission to help homeowners future proof their homes and reduce their carbon emissions by installing green technology. Following our successful launch we’re delighted to announce our expansion. We look forward to continuing to help green-minded homeowners in the community move towards more sustainable energy choices.”
Thermly’s expansion comes at a good time for Sevenoaks homeowners, with UK energy prices set to rise by 6.4% in April, meaning the average household will see an extra £9.25 per month added to their bills.
Gareth said: “Investing in heat pumps, solar panels and battery storage presents an opportunity for homeowners to take control of their energy usage, reduce costs, and future proof their homes. Not only can these technologies lower bills, but they also offer government-backed financial incentives and contribute to a more sustainable future.”
