Green tech company Thermly announces exciting expansion after successful launch in Somerset

Press Release

Homeowners can now use the Thermly platform for heat pump, solar panel and battery storage solutions

April 2025: Green tech company Thermly is excited to announce it is expanding, paving the way for Somerset homeowners to further reduce their bills and cut their carbon emissions as the UK is set for an energy price hike this month.

Last year, Thermly announced its launch in Somerset, offering homeowners the chance to future proof their home by switching to an environmentally friendly heat pump. Now, following a successful launch, Thermly is expanding to include other green technology options for homeowners, including solar panels and battery storage.

The initiative will enable a Somerset-wide roll-out of green tech installations in homes across the area, supporting Somerset Council to fulfil its ambitious aim to become carbon-neutral by 2030 in a bid to tackle climate change.

Thermly provides independent information about the green tech options available to homeowners and access to a choice of local, certified installers. The company supports homeowners to make important decisions about green tech, including heat pumps and solar panels, making the process simple and straightforward.

Jo Pearse, a 55-year-old registered care manager from Somerset, had a heat pump installed through Thermly and has never looked back. She is now reaping the benefits in her cosy home after previously struggling with the cold in the winter months. As a volunteer for the Somerset Otter Group, she is passionate about the environment and wanted to do her bit to reduce her carbon footprint by having a heat pump installed.

“People are already seeing the impact on weather systems and I think the next few years are critical. As individuals we should all be looking to reduce our carbon footprint,” she said.

Thermly’s free online platform helps homeowners install green technology such as heat pumps and solar panels quickly and easily, connecting them with local Somerset-based installers to make their journey as easy and efficient as possible.

Gareth Robertson, one of the founders of Thermly, said: “We are on a mission to help homeowners future proof their homes and reduce their carbon emissions by installing green technology. Following our successful launch we’re delighted to announce our expansion. We look forward to continuing to help green-minded homeowners in the community move towards more sustainable energy choices.”

Thermly’s expansion comes at a good time for Somerset homeowners keen to find alternative solutions to the ever volatile energy market, with UK energy prices set to rise by 6.4% in April, meaning the average household will see an extra £9.25 per month added to their bills.

Gareth said: “Investing in heat pumps, solar panels and battery storage presents an opportunity for homeowners to take control of their energy usage, reduce costs, and future proof their homes. Not only can these technologies lower bills, but they also offer government-backed financial incentives and contribute to a more sustainable future.”
