Local Authority partnerships

Thermly invests in building local low carbon supply chains, partnering with local authorities to deliver innovative approaches that result in an acceleration of retrofit by homeowners.

How it works

We offer two Partnership Pathways for local authorities: Standard and Enhanced. Please note that neither of these Pathways require any cash investment from the Local Authority.

In return, we provide engagement resources, drive scale economies to reduce installation costs and a build a Community Impact Fund to create local social and environmental impact.

The more time and effort you as a local authority invest in the process, the more we can bring to the table. It’s that simple. We don’t want, or ask for, exclusivity – if others offer something innovative and compelling on this agenda, then great! The more the merrier – let’s face it, the challenge is enormous and there’s plenty to do for everyone.

What’s not to like? You get a third party working to achieve your own carbon and economic development goals, and you don’t need to spend taxpayers’ cash doing it.

1

We don’t ask for cash investment

2

We build green economic growth in your authority’s area

3

We provide our service free to homeowners

4

We deliver local social impact through our Community Impact Fund

5

You get free access to retrofit expertise, data analysis and reporting and innovative digital tools

6

We ask for no cash and we don’t ask for exclusivity; you don’t need to procure us

Pathway services

Standard Pathway

For Local Authorities with limited capacity and resources, we can offer you a smaller suite of resources and support, in return for which we ask to meet on a quarterly basis to discuss current & upcoming homeowner engagement and local installer activities, identifying opportunities to help us deliver services in your area.

Enhanced Pathway

For Local Authorities with a bit more capacity or staff resources, we can implement the full suite of Thermly services, resources and expertise. In return, we expect greater involvement and in-kind support related to the promotion of activity within your local authority. This will include, for example, regular monthly meetings, introductions to key stakeholders and community groups, as well as joint promotion of the opportunities for householders across digital and traditional media, and so forth.

The Thermly Community Impact Fund

We also put back into your communities. Every time and installation is delivered through Thermly, we pay £50 into our Community Impact Fund (CIF).

As the fund builds, we then invite applications for the monies from community and third sector groups who can deliver genuine local and social impact. We will create and disseminate the value of these projects, building trust in what we do.

Depending on the extent of your involvement we can create a geographically targeted version of the CIF, creating bespoke requirements that meet your local authorities social and environmental objectives.
